Welcome to the Year 2 Class Page.

As we go through the year you will be learning all about Burscough, past and present. We will develop an understanding of how shops, people's lives and our own school have changed over time. We will map out Burscough, learn about map symbols and identify human and physical features of our settlement.  

In Spring we will also learn how to keep fit and what we need to keep our bodies healthy.  We will explore the lives of real life super heroes, Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole. 

During the Summer Term we will become explorers and discover all about life in Kenya. 

Along the way, we’ll be playing lots of games to help us learn, lots of art and DT to improve our skills and lots of PE to keep us fit.  If you want to know more about what we will learn in detail, take a look at the Year 2 curriculum document and then the subject pages too.

If you have any questions, mums or dads can always talk to us when they pick you up, but they can also message us through the ‘Seesaw’ app, where we will be sharing all the exciting and wonderful things you do in school.

For your information, PE is on Tuesdays and Thursday.  Outdoor learning and forest school is on a Thursday.

Spellings are given out at the beginning of term via SeeSaw, spellings tests are every Friday. Children should read at home three times a week to earn a 'Tryassaurus' sticker.
