Welcome to the Maple Year Three Class Page.

As we go through the year, you will be learning all about the United Kingdom. You will also learn about your brain and how to develop a Happy Mind. You will start to learn Spanish. You will continue to learn your multiplication facts and develop your love of reading.

In Autumn, you will learn about Prehistoric Britain and settlements. You will investigate mechanisms including levers and linkages and learn about the science of light.

In Spring, you will also learn about Roman Britain. You will be print making and using clay. You will find out about mountains. In Science, you will learn about rocks and soils and also magnetism.

During the Summer Term, you will be looking at different textiles and investigating nutrition and cooking. You will find out about a new country, Italy. In Science, you will learn about flowering plants as well as skeletons and nutrition.

Along the way, we’ll be playing lots of games to help us learn, lots of art and DT to improve our skills and lots of PE to keep us fit.  If you want to know more about what we will learn in detail, take a look at the Year 3 curriculum document and then the subject pages too.

If you have any questions, mums or dads can always talk to us when they pick you up, but they can also message us through the ‘Class Dojo’ app, where we will be sharing all the exciting and wonderful things you do in school.

For your information, PE is on Tuesdays and Thursday.  Outdoor learning and Forest School is on a Wednesday.

Spellings are given out at the beginning of term via Class Dojo, spellings tests are every Friday. Children should read at home three times a week to earn a Dojo.
